Competitions & Events
The centre hosts events and competitions most weekends throughout the year, which include:
- Affiliated and unaffiliated show jumping
- Unaffiliated and affiliated dressage up to Grand Prix
- Indoor carriage driving
- British Eventing JAS
- Lecture demonstrations and clinics by leading trainers and riders
Dog agility clubs also regularly use the arena to host shows and weekly evening training clinics as do local pony and riding clubs.
Thank you very much for your exceptionally good help at our Monty Roberts Demonstration at Merrist Wood. You couldn’t have been more helpful and we’ll certainly plan to come back in the future.
I just wanted to say thank you for providing such a great venue for our stallion and progeny display on Sunday. Everything was well set up both in the commentary box and warm up area. Everyone behaved themselves (owners included!) and for some it was their horse’s first outing so a great experience for them.
I am just writing to thank you for a lovely day at the Merrist Wood Affiliated Dressage Show. The facilities were excellent and the show was very well run. We will definitely be coming again.
I just wanted to drop you a line after yesterday’s dressage – we’ve not come to Merrist Wood before and it was a lovely event. I particularly appreciated such a brilliant steward who was so helpful and efficient. If only every show could provide a steward, one who gives us 7 minute warnings and take us to the arena – brilliant!
Thanks for the results. Lots of riders were saying how much they appreciate the efficiency of your show management (and time warnings).
Thank you to you and your staff for giving us all such fun on Saturday at the unaffiliated championships. It’s great to have mounted prize giving, and even prizes, as well as sashes and rosettes. It makes a pleasant change from the seriousness of BD! It’s always a pleasure to come to Merrist Wood; the atmosphere is great and everything runs efficiently.
Thank you for a very enjoyable days dressage last Saturday. We thought it would be a low key outing as none of the classes were qualifiers! How wrong we were! Followed by big report in Horse and Hound. Perfect!!!!
I want to thank you for such a well organised BSJA on Saturday. It was my first time at Merrist Wood. I am not a huge fan of BSJA due to all the hanging around but this was not the case with your event!
